The Super Visa is a great option for your parents or grandparents especially if they want to visit for prolonged periods of time.

Most families want to sponsor their Parents and Grandparents but as we know the system only takes a specific number of applicants per year and since it is usually a lottery selection well a lot of families might not have the fortune of being selected, so while you wait for the next round a Super Visa might be the best choice.

There are also parents and grandparents that you do not intend to become Permanent Residents but they do want to come for extended periods of time so this would be better than a regular tourist visa.

The Super Visa is meant for Parents and Grandparents of permanent residents and Canadian Citizens who are allowed to enter Canada and can meet the eligibility requirements.

For this specific application, you can include your parents and/or grandparents along with their spouses or common-law partners, but no other dependents can be included.

The Super Visa allows the applicant to stay for a period of up to 2 years in the country without the limitation of the 6 month period of the regular tourist visa nor do they have to be extending their stay while the Super Visa period is valid.

The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that can be given for a period of up to 10 years. The difference relies on the time the person can spend in the country.
