THE MPNP CONDUCTED A NEW SKILLED WORKERS OVERSEAS DRAW

On May 1, 2025, Manitoba carried out Draw #244 of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), specifically targeting candidates in the Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) stream. This round saw the province issue 26 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates who met the eligibility criteria under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The minimum score required was 727 points, which is a notable increase of 106 points compared to the previous SWO draw. This rise suggests higher competitiveness in this round, possibly due to a more limited intake or a larger volume of high-scoring profiles in the candidate pool.

So far in 2025, Manitoba has issued 718 LAAs through its nomination program, including 159 candidates who declared both a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code, reinforcing Manitoba’s continued use of the federal Express Entry system to fast-track skilled immigration aligned with provincial labour needs.

These draws support the province’s efforts to attract qualified individuals with in-demand skills and a strong connection to Manitoba, contributing to long-term workforce and population growth.
