IRCC HELD THE FIRST CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW SINCE FEBRUARY
On May 13, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a long-awaited Express Entry draw targeting candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category. This marks the first CEC-specific draw since February, reflecting IRCC’s continued effort to welcome experienced temporary residents already living and working in Canada.
In Express Entry Round #347, IRCC issued 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible CEC candidates. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 547 points, which is 26 points higher than the previous CEC draw earlier this year. The tie-breaking rule applied was May 21, 2024, at 17:26:27 UTC.
As of May 13, 2025, the Express Entry pool included 250,082 registered profiles, reflecting high demand and competition among immigration candidates. With this draw, Canada has now issued 34,440 ITAs across 17 Express Entry draws in 2025.
This draw underscores Canada’s commitment to retaining talent that has already integrated into Canadian society, particularly through work and study experiences. The CEC stream remains a key pathway for international graduates and skilled workers to obtain permanent residency.
