IRCC LAUNCHES A COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONALLY EDUCATED NURSES

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has launched the Pre-Arrival and Post-Arrival Supports and Services Program (PASS), a new federally funded initiative designed to help internationally educated nurses (IENs) successfully integrate into Canada’s healthcare system.

Administered by the CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses, the PASS program offers a wide range of free services to eligible participants. These include online communication courses tailored to the Canadian clinical environment, one-on-one mentorship with experienced professionals, informative webinars, and personalized case management to guide nurses through licensing and job preparation.

To qualify, candidates must have completed a recognized nursing education program outside of Canada and received immigration approval from IRCC. The program aims to reduce barriers for foreign-trained nurses by providing structured support from the pre-arrival phase through to employment and licensure.

With Canada facing ongoing healthcare staffing challenges, this initiative not only supports immigrant professionals but also strengthens the national healthcare workforce by accelerating the path to employment for skilled nurses.

If you're a nurse trained abroad and planning to move to Canada, contact Global Opportunities to learn how you can take advantage of the PASS program and begin your professional journey with confidence.
