IRCC TO ACCEPT 10,000 APPLICATIONS FOR THE PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM
IRCC has confirmed the launch of the 2025 intake for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP), beginning on July 28. During this round, the department will accept up to 10,000 complete sponsorship applications.
Only individuals who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020—and have not yet received an invitation—will be considered for this new intake. Selected candidates will receive invitations from IRCC and must submit their applications electronically via either the Permanent Residence Portal or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal.
For those who are not invited in this round, the Super Visa remains a viable alternative. This temporary visa allows parents and grandparents to visit Canada for extended periods—up to 5 years per entry—with the option to apply for extensions of up to 2 years without needing to leave the country.
This initiative continues to reflect Canada’s commitment to family reunification, providing Canadian citizens and permanent residents with meaningful opportunities to bring their loved ones closer.
If you or a family member submitted an interest form in 2020 and are unsure of your current status—or would like to explore your options under the Super Visa—contact Global Opportunities today. Our team is ready to guide you through every step of the sponsorship or visa application process.
