THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA HELD A NEW EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW AND INVITED 2,500 HEALTHCARE WORKERS

Strengthening Canada’s Healthcare Workforce

On October 15, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its fifth occupation-specific Express Entry draw of the year, inviting 2,500 healthcare and social services professionals to apply for permanent residency.
This initiative reflects Canada’s ongoing strategy to address nationwide labor shortages in the healthcare sector and enhance access to essential services.

Details of the Draw

The draw, identified as round #373, set a cut-off score of 472 CRS points, two points higher than the previous draw.
The tie-breaking rule was established on May 12, 2025, at 23:17:30 UTC.
To date, IRCC has issued 74,183 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across 43 draws in 2025, including 10,000 ITAs specifically targeting healthcare and social assistance professionals.

Why Healthcare Professionals Are in Demand

Canada’s aging population and post-pandemic recovery have created an urgent demand for nurses, physicians, therapists, and social workers.
These targeted draws under the Express Entry system allow qualified professionals to transition quickly into the workforce and support communities in need, particularly in underserved regions.

A Strategic Focus on Public Health

By continuing to prioritize healthcare professionals, Canada reaffirms its commitment to building a resilient and equitable healthcare system.
